Any Internet Marketer worth his computer knows that keywords are the life blood of their income. These words are what people type into search engines to find information. If you’ve done your work right, they’ll find your site and come running, eager to buy what you have, this is the way to make money in Internet Marketing. A site that is not keyword optimized is a site that’s not making money.
But many niche marketers fail to do regular check ups on their keyword list. Just because you had some keywords at one time that brought in traffic, doesn’t mean they will always be popular. It’s because of the ever changing nature of the Internet that some keywords die off while others are born and grow in popularity.
The time that any of us have to work on our websites is valuable. It would be a shame to find out that you’ve been optimizing your website for keywords that are no longer popular and fail to make money. For example, it wouldn’t do you much good to be working on keywords about Christmas in the middle of March. No one is looking to buy Christmas gifts at Easter.
Another reason to continually check up on your keywords is so that you’ll be able to find new keywords as they become popular and will help you get cash faster. Heck, just a few years ago the term Niche Marketing didn’t even exist. This is a prime example of being on the lookout for new keywords. By checking your keywords every month or so and getting rod of the ones not making you money and adding new ones that are hot, you’ll go a long ways in making money in this business.
Also, some niches just go away while other niches change. Wise niche marketers will be diligent in getting rid of these non profitable keywords and optimize their pages for new, more valuable keywords. Don’t waste time and energy optimizing your website for keywords that have died off and that are no longer searched for.
To be consistently profitable, you’ll need to ever watchful over your keyword list, getting rid of ones that are no longer searched for and replacing them with hot new keywords everyone is using. Let your competition optimize their site for keywords that no longer bring in visitors!
