Right up front, traffic exchanges can be a waste of your time so it’s vital that your research each traffic exchange program thoroughly.

Traffic exchange programs are abundant on the Internet and a good method to get exposure and clicks to your Internet site and make money online. Traffic exchanges, also called TE, work like this. They are free to join. Once you’ve joined, you post a short ( animating ) description and link of the site you need to promote. to get exposure to your Internet site you want to earn credits. The more credits you have, the more exposure you’ll get. You can earn credits either by clicking on the other members’ sites or you can purchase your credits or upgrade your membership. This newsletter will give you an outline of some of the top traffic exchanges.

TrafficSwarm. This is one of the most popular traffic exchanges on the net. The quickest and easiest method to earn credits with Trafficswarm is to set your browser’s “start page” to your own personal ‘Surf URL’ on TrafficSwarm ( there are step-by-step instructions on how to try this and it’ll only take a minute ). This way, each time you open your net browser to surf the Net, you may earn a credit. You may also earn one – one thousand credits every time you visit another member’s website thru your start page. TrafficSwarm has the most users and visits of another TE, and they also have an impressive referral program.

Dragonsurf is another one of the best traffic exchange programs and one of its main benefits is that it permits you to build up credits fast. The traffic exchange belongs to Soren Jordansen who has an excellent reputation in this business.

TrafficSplash has risen quickly to turned into one of the best traffic exchanges online. TrafficSplash has a powerful design, the cheapest upgrades and credits you can find, and the extremley good customer service. This traffic exchange also offers many rewards that range from credits to splash points. Referal commissions for Traffic Splash are fifty percent which also places it in the excellent range. Included in the TrafficSplash promotion page are customized splash pages, regular splash pages, a splash page generator, banners, rotators, sample emails and sample textlinks.

Soaring4Traffic is considered a very effective and innovative traffic exchange with tons of unique tools and amiable buyer service. The only downsides of this traffic exchange are that the upgrades are expensively priced and the referral commissions are only 40 percent

BlueSurf is one of the more recent traffic exchanges and has essentially exceeded DragonSurf in alexa rankings. This company is trail-blazed in this respect: the home page always includes an “average surf” number. On the index page, it says “The number you see above is the average number of pages each surfer at blue-surf surfed yesterday.” to market consistent surfing — and to reward the “average” surfer, all you’ve got to do is surf more pages than the number above and you’ll get a fifteen credit bonus at the end of the day. This advertisements up.

Start with one or all of the above traffic exchange programs to lift traffic to your site.

The more people that come online the more power and popularity social networking sites get which is great for you and I because it’s a powerful way to grow your web site traffic. The key is to take action, don’t just expect others to seek you out. Look for people that are like minded and have similar niches they work.

Just to mention a few social networks:

One of the most powerful things about social networking is that it can be done for free. All it takes is YOU taking action to get the process working. As a blogger with many blogs in a number of niches I rely on social networking to get more traffic to my blog.

How To Increase Web Site Traffic Through Social Networking

1. Increase Web Site Traffic With Friends

Using networks to find more friends is the key to increasing traffic with social networking. It’s amazing how fast the number of friends can grow in these sites. All I did for one Facebook account was to start the account and before I knew it I have more family and friends signed up than I could work with. That was will little to no effort on my part.

2. Use Blog Commenting To Increase Traffic

Use other blogs that are in your niche and start leaving comments but don’t do like so many morons do and say things like, ‘great post’ or ‘I like it and will return’. Those are just spam in my books and add absolutely nothing to the post. Who is going to visit your site from that comment?

Instead of spamming blog comments take the time to read the post and respond with a value added response. I do this and people follow my link to my site because I was willing to share something useful.

I even blog owners responding back and visiting my site.

3. A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words

I try to use an image with every post I create. Why? Well I know that when I am browsing blogs to learn new things I always feel better immediately if they have an image that says something about the post.

Images can be used to break up long text and to give meaning to all those words before you even start readign them.

I have noticed that the sites that are just full of articles that have no meaning or order seldom use images, they just want tons of content, so be on the alert when you see a blog post without an image.

4. Take The Time To Create A Good Profile Page

It’s pretty basic. If you don’t bother why should anyone else. If you take the time to write up something that will make others interested in your they may be but if you don’t you can be pretty sure they won’t be interested in you.

Personally when I go to any given social network and land on a profile page that’s empty or very sparse I usually just leave. If they can’t take the time to put in a little info they are most likey a spammer and just trying to get as many social accounts going as they can.

You have to let people know some things about you. If you went to a party and sat in the corner never telling anyone who you are or taking any action you will think the social thing doesn’t work. You have to take that first step.

5. Use Your Content To Increase Traffic

It’s important to have compelling content so that when visitors to your social networks see you content they will be impressed enough to follow through to your web site. I use Twitter to share my blog content with others on Twitter and it blew my site traffic up beyond anything I have had before. It wouldn’t have happened if I just spammed.

Content is King/Queen and needs to be created with a focused train of thought to help your readers.

I have tried various methods of advertising and have found that the best way to relax people and have them more likely click your links is to have them merged into your content. Unlike banners, where visitors eyes just tend to turn away, the ads that seem part of the content get more clicks.

Note: The placement of your ad blocks is going to make the difference between getting one click or ten clicks, so I would suggest you go to Google Adsense and read what Google has to say about placing your ads.

If you are already getting targeted visitors to your sites then the next best thing you can do for your Adsense earning is to increase the number of visitors you are getting. More target traffic means more interested clickers.

Google Adwords Campaigns

Yes, successful marketers find Adwords a great way to focus on the keywords that draw the right traffic. It takes a little bit of a budget then agree to pay a specific amount per month so that you don’t exceed your budget.

Adwords does well on certain markets and doesn’t seem to do so well on other. It’s your job to use the Adwords keywords tool to narrow down the successful keywords. Best to run a campaign for a month and see which keywords are working and which aren’t.

Write Keyworded Articles

Article writing is a hugely popular way to get more targeted traffic to your web pages. You will have a backlink to your page for each article your write, plus it will attract readers and those readers that are happy with your content will most likely follow your link through to your site.

Then if you have compelling content you will get clicks on your Adsense adblocks.

If  your article makes readers happy they may even put that article on their site, which gives you another link back to your web page.

The more backlinks you get from your articles the more likely it is that your pagerank will increase and Google will start sending you more traffic.

Link exchange

I don’t do so much link exchanging any more as article marketing has done so well for me but I still do exchange links with people as long as I get a three way link. I just make sure I am not linking to the same site they are linking to me from. It just tends to look better to the search engines like Google.

When seeking links I always like to have at least 2 web sites that are related so that it’s easy to do three-way linking.
